Why don't NPC players get to hold their bow when they log out?

My guess is that Drocket forgot to program NPCs with opposable thumbs. When they are logged in, a special NPC login script attaches velcro to their palms but that goes inactive when they are logged out and the bows just go plunk.

Just a guess though, I really can't say for certain.

*raises hand high*

I am responsible for this. It goes back to when Dundee was coding. It has to do with logging out. When you logoff or disconnect you will stay active a bit. If you disconnect in the middle of a battle you would be in trouble if you are holding a bow, as it would be ineffective within two steps. Therefore I asked, and Dundee set it up so that you switch to whatever weapon you have in the .arm that are not bows.** Not sure if you go to just hands, though.

I actually asked him if the bow could be used like a club, 'cause of the disconnect problem. It was his solution for the .arm...
