Scavenger hunt

I've been kicking around this idea in my head for a week or so. Anyway I need some suggestions on the rules. I'm attempting to make a level playing field, where [Young] and established players could play side by side or maybe 3 catagories [Young], established, and a 50/50 mix. Sadly the other problem I have is I have but a few humble things, and most likely would need some one to sponser such and event.

See most important question at the bottom..

current ideas on the rules:
1)Teams of 4; followed by 2 judges
2)Each team member can start with short pants, plain shirt, 1 trade tool ( sewing kit, shovel, hammer, hatchet, etc. ), and you can start with a spell book, but no regeants. As there is no verification method this might require the honor system. No active buffs, no bandaids, no potions.
3) hatchets will be the only Lumberjacking tool allowed, and cannot be used offensively.
4) You can use anything you get off a mob, or create
5) to start collecting points you must ante 1000gp to the winners pot.
6) after the 1000 gp, you may also buy a bag of 50 each regular regeant, available at the central collecting point. 1200 gold. Perhaps the other regeants could be made available, also.
7) Points will be accumulated by collected the heads of mobs and turning them in. Each would have varying points.
8 ) You can use one tamed creature per member team still active.
9) Death leaves you unable to further assist your team
10) Your team has one hour to collect as many points as possible. Nothing will be accepted after one hour.
11) Winning team gets to split the ante's plus any sponsered items.

I have at some questions. Can druids create more then one staff for themselves? Are the above rules harsher on mages then tanks or archers?

Any suggested refinements?

Most importantly: An interest?

We could do this over a 24 hour period, allowing teams to run when the time for them and the judges are the best.

Nice idea but kind of too complicated rules for my lazy brains.

Could you try to put those rules in 3-5 lines and you´ll get more interested ones.

Ok, the condensed version :)

1) small groups, starting with only tools to create things.

2) collect mobs heads, earn points.

3) Use items from mobs, or items your team creates. To not completely nullify mages, regeants provided after certain criteria met.

4) death eliminates player from assisting team

5) time allowed 1 hour.

Idea is meant to test your resourcefulness, and put all your skills to work in one short period.

Comments?
Suggestions?

Ok I have a sponser ( Ciara ) and either a co-host or contributing sponser ( Waiting for a reply to a message before revealing, I think the probably would like some recognition, just want to make sure ).

I guess the rules are still being ironed out :)

Anyway right now Im trying to come up with a time.

*Edit this would be the 21st, 22nd or 23rd of May, for the moment *

Weekdays and early evenings PDT are not too feasible for me. I think my wife would prefer I not do it in the middle of the day. I was thinking late on a Friday 9 PDT (12 EDT 4 GMT Sat), Early Saturday 7 AM (10,2PM) or the same times on Saturday evening/Sunday Morning.

I'd like to give as many people a chance to show up as possible. IF this won't work perhaps if I do have co-host they could work a better time.

Hopefully everyone will win something, but I think the winners will be *very* happy. And I hope everyone has fun.

My co-host and creative contributer to this event is Chelsea Duklain.

Ciara is a major sponser of this event, also.

If there is no input on the times, I guess Chelsea and I will pick a time :)

It appears the time selected to do this will be

Sat May 22nd 7AM PDT (-7 GMT)

The simple rules to be posted later. The goal will be to kill a few monsters and travel to various locations. It would be good to know points of interest.

Oh I want this to be an oppurtunity for some mixing, I forgot the following.

You will score x2 with any [Young] in your group

If you have 2 or more [Young] tags that are Expert or lower you will get triple the points (x3)
*end edit*

3) Use items from mobs, or items your team creates. To not completely nullify mages, regeants provided after certain criteria met.

4) death eliminates player from assisting team

5) time allowed 1 hour.

1) Groups of 4, if you don't have a group, show up I'll try and create groups. We may have a group or two with 5

2) Clues will lead to various parts of the world to collect items or information. Learn the georgraphy, say for instance where the telescope is. You will need this to get your regeants.*

3) ditto

4) Death will be viewed as inconvience

5) time allowed will be about 5min/clue, I think about 80minutes.

Meet at the Skara Bank, closest access to a Moongate. You may bring horses or ostards, no nightmares, please. Bring one crafting item, the wardwrob will be provided to you.

*Bring a bag with [b]400 total regeants per group[\b] of your own mixture. You will had to me, and when I recall the game will start, and I will be in position for 1 hour for you to find me from the clues to collect your regeants.

You may bring spell books, codex, and druid staves. Other items save the robe we give you and the crafting tool will be allowed.

Only tame one creature.

I think between what Ciara and Chelsea are contributing, plus the two nice items I am throwing in rather then putting up for auction should be well worth your time.

Thanks

Well after seeing how much effort Chelsea had *already* put into this, I don't want that to go to waste. I think I will discuss with her alternatives, if less then 10 people show up. Something along the lines of a slight format change to rescheduling...

Guess I better visit the Britan bank a few times to pass the word online.

Yes, Chelsea has put quite a bit of work into this to make it worthwhile. You wouldn't want to disappoint her, would you? *Srunches up her feace and gives them all the evil eye*.

Trust me, if I weren't assisting I'd darn sure want to be part of it.

I really think everyone will have fun and it will be a deviation from normal evenings of hunt-kill-loot. (Of course the quests are not considered norm so don't even think of flaming me for that comment.)

Chelsea the *coughsIknowthemafia* Entertaining!

I regret that real life has kicked in and this event cannot take place this weekend. To be rescheduled...
