Pieces of Amber.....

Postby Celeste Kendreyl on Mon Apr 05, 2004 6:51 am

What critters drop pieces of amber? It seems that nearly every time I go to cast a Nature's Blessing, I'm outta amber again....I need to stock up on this stuff.....lol Anyplace where there are lots of critters that carry it? Even one piece per critter is fine, I just need a supply of some kind...

?? :?: ?? Totally confused... stealing? One would need the stealing skill to do such a thing, and doing so would be a negative virtue thing as well, which wouldn't quite be right for a druid... What I was asking was if there were critters that dropped amber, not NPC's I could steal it from... lol. Hell, I'd even BUY it if anyone had it for a reasonable price, but it seems all the vendors that DO have any amount want 50 gp each for em...

Mining brings up a fair bit of amber, and I think you get some lumberjacking as well. My fisher seems to come up with a fair bit, I think from water elemental drops.

I can set you up with some amber if you want, I think we have a ton of it in the castle. I know Drocket and L-man would appreciat the drop in my item count lol.

Hehe, ok, Azzo, that would be most appreciated, and I would be more than happy to pay for them. :)

Other than that though... guys...

I need to know what critters drop amber... those other methods of gathering might work well for those with those skills, but I don't posess such abilities... Dal is a Druid, Cel is a tank... not much room for mining, fishing, or stealing on either of them... hehe. I DO, however, appreciate the info though. I wasn't aware that one could gather much amber from any other sourse other than critter drops. *Thinks long and hard about creating a miner/fisher character....* :)

I'd personally say that mining is _one_ of the best ways to get some amber. While mining you can find amber and anger some earth elementals which carry random gems..very often amber, plus you can get t-maps while mining too.
treasurechests may have amber inside and the guarding monsters can carry some too. :)

Creatures with gems: elementals(about everyone has some), warriors of different sorts(lizard and orcs etc.) and many others. Those might be the easiest :)

Hey Celeste,
Just a question... what are your characters' tradeskills?

Celeste,
I just took down the first three levels of shame lastnight (well, I didn't quite finish the 3rd level)... but I got about 15 ambers from that...

Just thought I would let you know. I think alot of it came from the second level.

Chopping trees or mining sand works pretty good, too.

I mine with John and his three golems in Compassion. While mining I try to take out as many sand elementals as I can(They carry random gems). I get a fair amount of amber from the mining and from the elementals. I don't know, but even at 60 mining can you get amber?

I think Ogres are your best chance because they have 2-4 random gems on em usually.
