Potential Website & Server Downtime

Postby Drocket on Wed Mar 17, 2004 8:31 am

Last night, Arcanum (those of you who have been around for a while know what he used to be the host of WoD) transfered the theworldofdreams.com domainname to me. Previously, he owned the domain, and when he decided to retire, we were lazy and never bothered to transfer it. It was coming up for renewal, though, so I reregistered it.

Anyway, what it works out to is that the DNS information for the domainname will be updating, something that can take a few days. With any luck it'll be a transparent process, but since there's always the potential for problems, I thought it best to post about it so everyone is forewarned if they can't view the website or log into the server sometime in the next couple of days.

If there is any problems, you can check my personal website, http://www.drocket.net , because I'll post something about it there (and it you can't connect to drocket.net either, then its probably a problem with powweb.com, the website host. Try again later and all that.)

Anyway, just a warning.

Well, it looks like this is all done now - the transition went quite smoothly, I think. I'll just unstickify this now.

It's kind of like having 600+ children, hey Drocket? When you keep them happy, they stay quiet - when something disrupts them or they get unhappy.. then the screaming and the shouting and the crying and pulling hair all starts!
