no hunting isnt easy ,but most ppl know when to run away and heal.if they dont there dead and we go rescue then.

as far as the magics and special things go ,theres not to much you can do about it,most shards have this problem no matter how rare you make things.
ppl play for a long time and the rare become not so rare.most shards just have a wipe after so much time.
i persoanly do not know how long wod has been up or how long its been since there has been a wipe.
i have been here a year, thats a long time to be hunting and getting things !other ppl have been here a lot longer collecting things, its just a matter of time till ppl have tomns of special and rare things .

as i just found out its been 5 years with no wipe ,thats a long time for ppl to find rare things so it would add up nothing to do about that!

i dont like the insurance idea and i do die from time to time usually from getting in over my head, ask those who know me i dont know enough to run away.

I think it adds a bit of excitement to not know if you are gonna get help in timeand when help does come its usually alot of help and you can make more friends that way.

I think people would be less willing to throw themselves into helping people if everyone had stuff newbied so to speak makes it less interesting i think

but thats just my 2 cents

This is true, to a point, but corpses last way too long for that to be much of an issue, maybe they should be on a 5 or 10 minute timer, that should get some adrenaline going.

This is going to be sort of a careful answer, but I don't think I can help that: The idea of item insurance isn't a bad one per se (and just so you know, I pondered this idea LONG before it ever showed up on OSI :P) Based on the mechanics of WoD (and OSI/UO in general), I don't think that there's a way to implement this that wouldn't be bad (or at the very least, unfair.)

The general idea of item insurance isn't terrible: it helps players get back into the action faster. You die, but you still have (at the least) your weapon, so you can play a more active role in the rescue of the rest of your stuff. That's something that's really only true of tank/warior types, though. Mages wouldn't be able to save their reagents this way (and saving a bag would be bad, in a whole lot of ways.)

There's basically just too many problems with it for it to ever really be workable, in a fairness way, at the very least.
