Well, it is 11:18am CDT.
I am at work, and supposed to be working.......
but.....
Is it just me, or is anyone else having a hard time focusing on any task at hand?
I keep glancing at the clock....
Wanting to stop time...
A dread and sense of doom permeates my thoughts....
This just can't be real.......
I have even rearranged my personal schedule for this evening, so that I can be logged in when......

I know what you mean. I can't seem to think about anything else either. I know this is supposedly "just a game" and it shouldn't bother me so much, but I, too, have this impending sense of doom. The song "It's the end of the world as we know it..." keeps running through my mind.
Am I whacked or what?

I agree, I am at work also. Its all I can think about. I have a sense of dread, I can not concentrate on a thing.
I regret to say I can not be there tonight. I really wish I could arrange my schedule, but I can't. I will be there in spirit, If not in body.
I will always carry the spirit of Wod with me. I will forever and always be a Wodian.
No Nia I do not think you are wacked, It is bothering me too
Love

Well i for one am not going to be sad any longer. I refuse to. WOD gave me some wonderful memories and some awesome friends. I take only good from wod...no bad.
Im not sure if i can be on when the lights go down but i am gonna really try. This place has always meant a great deal to me...but more than that it is part of me...and im taking it with me...im not leaving it behind.
Ok....i said i wasnt gonna be sad...these are really just tears of joy.
Know this WOD... you will be in my thoughts for many years to come...And always in my heart.
wipes a tear.....um...of joy,

What's worse here is that my *entire* office went away for the day, so there's not even anyone around to remind me that I should be working. I'm not going to get a single thing done today.
I'm going to try to be on tonight for the last minutes, but it's my birthday so will be doing birthday stuff for most of the evening.
I'm going to miss this place and it's people... My heart is heavy today... I have not gone a day this week without shedding tears. I never knew I could cry this much. One of the songs that keeps going through my mind is the Sarah McLachlan song, Arms of an Angel... "let me empty and weightless and maybe I'll find some peace tonight." I truly hope to we will all keep in touch, and meet again at some point.
So....
Here's to WoD, the home we have cherished. Here's to the people who gave her her spirit. And here's to the journey yet ahead of us, and to new adventures waiting to be discovered.
*raises a glass with tears on her face*

There goes the goose bumps and tears again.....
I am feeling the same way as all of you. I am at work and cant think of anything else but WoD. LOL If anyone else is whacked in this post, then so am I.
Its too bad you cant be there tonight Jocilyn. Whatever you are doing, you wont be able to concentrate.....
I will be there tonight, unfortunately for the wrong reasons. Hope to see many others tonight as well.

Oh my goodness, I didn't get to sleep last night until 3 am thinking of all the memories and friends I made here. I have done nothing today but think of the closing. Each and everyone of you are so very special to me. I like Jocylin can't be here tonight to say a final goodbye. Just know my thoughts are with you all.

I'm just wondering... could any of you get any more pathetic? WOD was a game. That's all. The people there were cliquish, and weren't all that open to "outsiders". Having played for almost 2 years, I should know. 90% of you just logged on to "chat" in the bank anyway... at least most of the time. So 1. Find a new shard and continue on or 2. Find a chat room, since that's all you really did anyway. Both are readily available 24/7. Not too hard to find any.
Can I also take a moment to mention how pathetic I find this whole shard wedding thing to be, too? I mean, come on. How many of you are married in real life? How many are "married" in-game? How many are married in real life to the one you're "married" to in game? How many of you devote as much time to your spouses and children as you do to your new characters' skills, buffs, etc.? Maybe if you spent more time in the real world, and less time playing a stupid game, you'd have better family lives.
Take a good look at yourselves, people. If you can't concentrate because you're at work and WOD is closing tonight, you have gone beyond pathetic. You need serious psychiatric help.
Listen to all the crappy, whiny, pathetic music you want to. Shed as many tears as you want. WOD is going away, and I say good riddance. I've wasted enough hours there already. Difference was, I treated it as a game, much as I'd play any computer game.
Hmmph. Game's over. Deal with it.

Thank you, Guest1.
...for reminding me of the things i will not miss about WOD the highly opinionated, backstabbing assh**es who thank that we want to hear what they have to say. If you dont want to hear all the whining and crying then dont look.
....for reminding me that my opinion and outlook counts for as much or more than yours does. That my feelings are valid no matter that it is just a game. Yes we spend a lot of time here...yes we got involved and developed lasting relationships. I see nothing wrong in sharing that with the rest of the shard in the form of a wedding. Celebrating a beginning instead of an ending. If you had one ounce of class you would know that.
But i think you do know. I think you know as well as the rest of us how much you will miss this. You are just expressing it differently. So i say "goodbye" to you Guest1 im sure i will miss you too.
do you need a hug?
*smiles* Ais

Hmm, Guest.
Why the anonymity?
Obviously you are one of those who just don't get what WoD was all about.
Don't go away mad. Just go away.
Evidently WoD meant enough to you for you to keep tabs on what was going on by perusing our forums.
If you want to take shots at us, grow a sack and put your name to it. Hiding behind anonymity simply says that you have opinions, but no integrity.

Jesus Christ that was harsh! C'mon, guest, some of us put a lot of time into this place.
Think about this: you make a great looking sand castle that took you hours to build and as soon as you got it to the best it could be, some jerk comes and knocks it down before you can take a picture. That's how a lot of us feel around here. Yeah it's just a game but have a heart.
