Fail to plan and plan to fail - AKA We was dumb.

** Thomas **

Early last evening I was chatting it up with Angelica, Aldwyn Greybeard, and Chanelle when Ki'Anna Stydoran messaged to see if I would take a look at an odd book she picked up in her travels. I don't have the complete text, but the jist if it was, Man finds demon partly dead, just before dispatching the beast it mentions it's brother deep in a dungon guarding a treasure. The only real clue which dungon was the word wrong in the book had been capitalized. We discussed taking a peek ourselves, then decided to gather a few troups. Angelica, and Aldwyn decided to come along, Chanelle passed (I wonder if, perhaps she has some pregognitive powers), but did go to find her sister Ciara. Off the 5 of us went.

Ok, a bit of setup here just incase people don't know. If you have never taken the portal from Wrong 2 to Wrong three, here's how it goes, it empies out into the center of a 30 * 30 square room ... one way, the portal back is WAAaaaaay over on the other side of the room. I'm pretty sure we ALL knew this, not the best strategic fighting position in the world.

Sane Choice #1 - Someone burns a sneeking charge and takes a peek. At least 2 of us did infact have sneeking items for just this sort of purpose *looks dumb*.
Sane Choice #2 - Send thru a sacrificial lamb to take a look.
Sane Choice #3 - Give up on the Wrong portal completely and take the one from the other dungon.
Our Choice - All of us charge valiantly thruough the gate.

What we saw upon taking the gate was the target demon (I assume) and, well, it looks like 13 or so of his brothers surrounding the entry point. If this was not the mother of all "Oh crap!" moments, it was a close relative. They seemed to take a rather dimm view of our presence there and moved in. We mad a vailiant (if somewhat brief) stand in the center of the room, very nearly managing to take out a demon or two. At some point Aldwyn noticed it wasn't going particularly well and made a break for the portal, to his credit he did make it about a third of the way before sucumming to the foul beasts.

The whole encounter went something like this:

You see: a hell hound
You see: a Terathan drone
You see: a Terathan Warrior
You see: a hell hound
You see: Vaelfar
You see: a Terathan drone
You see: a hell hound
You see: Cuchulainn
You see: Yog-Sothoth
You see: Huictiigara
You see: a hell hound
You see: a hell hound
You see: Agares
You see: a Terathan drone
You see: Aesop
You see: Frimost
You see: Sargatans
You see: Angel
You see: Heramael
You see: a Terathan Warrior
You see: Aglasis
You see: Wormius
You see: a Terathan Avenger
You see: a hell hound
You see: Aesop
You see: a hell hound
You see: Nebiros
You see: a hell hound
You see: a Terathan drone
Ciara's death cry is heard throughout the land!
Thomas's death cry is heard throughout the land!
Ki'Anna Stydoran's death cry is heard throughout the land!
Aldwyn Greybeard's death cry is heard throughout the land!
Angelica's death cry is heard throughout the land!

Total time elapsed between taking the portal and TPW (Total Party Wipeout) approx 3 seconds. Hehehe. *wonders if thats some sort of record*

Some of us called in our relatives to help with recovery, but by the time they arrived most of the demons seemed to have wandered off, probably got bored of kicking our heads around.

As always, thanks to whomever set it up, for all that it wound up being quite possibly one of the shortest quests ever, it was the most fun I've had in a bit. Next time we will be less dumb.

*Aldwyn Greybeard*

The real sad part of this story is that even after committing our fatal flaw we could still have walked out of there alive. Ki'Anna, Angelica and I are all masters in druid lore and any one of us could have cast the "tranqulity" spell in the 3-8 seconds lapse between total havoc and monochromic afterlife. If anything, recalling out might have been a more viable escape route than trying to run 30 steps to the nearest exit.

*Ki'Anna Stydoran*

I had just returned to Brit from an AG quest in Hythloth and clearing Moonglow gy.After selling my loot I noticed an odd little book in my pack.Being quite puzzled about it's signifigance I messaged Thomas asking if he would mind taking a look at it.We both read the book and decided to take a look in Hythloth when the crier told us we would be Wrong to go to Hyth.'Wrong'says we.'Hmmm perhaps we should take a look in Wrong instead' we decided. Not entirely sure what lay ahead of us we messaged for some assistance. Our courageous crew gathered at Brit bank then headed off to Wrong. We quickly made our way to the second level of Wrong to a flashing portal.Well being one that never hunts Wrong I didn't know this was a one way portal.Being the brave souls we are,in we went.

Well,as Thomas said,we stepped into a room with wall to wall Daemons.'Oh this isn't good' thought I.Valiantly we made an attempt(I managed to get one of their bars up before OoooOOOooooo lol)but alas it was to no avail(our corpses did made a lovely pattern as they fell one by one right at the entrance lol)

All in all it was a blast even if the leader managed to get away from us(laughing his head off I'm sure)Thank you to the seers who set this up and thank you to everyone who came along,I had a great time.

*Also wonders if our "3 seconds till all dead" quest set some sort of WoD record*

Well, maybe, if someone was thinking really really fast.

I know I spent at least half of my alive time staring at the screen in horror. I had myself totally convinced that there was just going to be one uberdeamon at the bottom.

I really should have known better, you'd think a person would learn over time wouldn't you?

**Angelica**

hehehe Well as usual I missed the discussion about the where's and whyfor's for going on this quest...so I had absolutely no idea what I was doing..except as usual I was happy to be going! And in the company of such heroes what could be so bad, right? LOL When we rushed down to Wrong we battled our way to the spot where this funny looking portal was...I really don't remember ever seeing it before..but then again I am notorious for my poor memory. We hesitated one second (I counted) and then pushed through this doorway to doom! Joram, I was frozen to the spot where i landed in that foul place! Much as I tried, I could not move! That said...it never occured to me to try Tranquility or hide or even recall! I like Thomas just looked at the screen and screamed! NOOOOOOoooOoo
I do hope the Seer forgives us for this blunder and knows how much fun we did have. Thanks for the memories!

Far as I know everyone got everything back. There were only 2 or 3 demons left by the time I got back with Edison (and others who's names are not coming to me off the top), I suspect they killed each other off from all the area effect spells going off.
