Lexus Den in WoD Part I
Posted: Sat Apr 26, 2003 12:21 pmThere I stood. My head was reeling. It was so similar, yet so very different. Shards of time and reality pieced my brain like white-hot iron spikes. The breeze that caressed its way around my body was the only thing that seemed to stop me slumping to my knees in confusion. I drew several long hard ragged breaths to try to regain my composure. To no avail, my body still trembled and tingled from whatever had happened, or I thought had happened.
This was Britain, I was sure. I was outside the castle; this I knew was also the truth. And yet…it was not the same. There was a difference. It was as if an electric charge flowed through the very air itself. Everywhere I turned to look there was an almost unperceivable eerie quality to my surroundings. It was almost as if I had stepped into a dream.
I stood and looked into this dream unsure of what to think, even doubting my own sanity and very existence. Slowly fragments of memory assaulted my senses. The last thing I remembered was standing outside the bank of Britain. I was in the process of trading something valuable…what it was cannot remember. Then it happened. There was a brilliant flash of light, the feeling of my very essence being drawn from my flailing body, as I seem to fall into nothingness. Then blackness. Then light and a rainbow coloured dream that seem to last forever and an instant. Then I was here, outside this majestic castle. The same castle I had seen so often, yet now it was a symbol of the perplexity of my mind.
In the distance the voices of people floated gently on the breeze. The sounds greeted my ears like old friends. Listening hard I realised these voices too seemed strange. An accent I had not heard before seemed to grace all the words that were spoken. Where was I?
There I continued to stand. My head was still reeling.
