There were plans for a sequal called "Spaceballs 3: the search for Spaceballs 2" but it never got off the ground. One reason was the death of John Candy. It was supposed to be more of a Star Trek spoof and a bunch of crazy stuff was supposed to be going on because of events that happened in #2. No one remembered them so there was going to be a search for the previous movie.
One thing is that Lone Star and Vespa were going to have a kid, who was really messed up. Once they found SB2, one of the revalations is that in SB2 they found out they were brother and sister.
I'm glad Spaceballs stayed a stand alone movie.

It was a great movie, I didn't like John Candy much anyways. Wipe Candy and go on with the sequal.
