Why?

Postby funkybodal on Sat Oct 02, 2004 8:52 pm

Personally, I find WoD's end highly unsatisfactory. As I see it, WoD died because Frocket (incidently, I think that the title 'lead developer' was abit misleading) got bored and this just sucks. Furthermore, the end in which WoD ended sucked also. I just ended. Lord Gizash did not rise again and defeat all my funky friends in a valiant last stand from the walls of Queen Lissar's Castle. WoD was in major decline, but it could have easily changed and everyone was willing to make it happen. What would this 'Project' have had over a WoD which had been spruced up a little. In my opinion, not alot.
WoD rocked, but now it doesn't rock at all. It was fun but now the good 'dream' has ended and the ending sucks - a like you've just woken up and have to get to work in ten minutes sort of ending. Anyway, This is my first and last rant before I probably sign off from UO together. On a positive note, it's been great and I'd like to say thankyou to the following (no particular order):

Vaie (who got me WoDing...and Echnin who got Vaie WoDing), Ciara, Zed, Wooders, Azzo, SS, Sethlenara, Forseti, Vince, Mal, Ateis inc. Nia, Mich, Ehran, Ami, Marius, The Finnish Crew (Maddox, Daalia, G, Ghoners, Ravek etc), Nox/Wulf, Henna, Gaeron, Joram, Skeet, Winters Worth, Roccers, Bart, Whisper, Benson ;), Eldric, Herakles, Sorin, Eldrin, Kasia, Kale, the Remmings', Wildwoods, Saroo, Azalin, Crozius, Raybell, Aardwolf...it goes on but I can't remember 'cos it's been that long :) oh, and all the GMs.

Thanks guys and stay funky.

I don't think it was like he woke up and said " Todays a new day so let's make people really sad." He has a life like we all do he may even have a family too. He wants to spend time with them just like you would if you had a family r maybe was a little like Wolf and are a party animal. Either way you got a life and you want to spend it wisely. I think we should give the man some credit! Heck he ran it for 5 years. Think if you have to come home everyday from a hard day of working and work AGAIN on your computer replying to peoples "She did this" and "He did that's". Pretty annoying? Think of doing it for 5 years. So do lay off.

Interesting; Drocket didn't end the shard because of a lack of family time, as you can see with the project, nor did Drocket have to reply to messages on a daily basis.

I've heard so many different versions about why Drocket ended things that it's ending up like the political campaigns: Who is right? Well, I've come to this conclusion: I don't care. The shard is up and that's all that matters.

Now everyone go in game and kill some stuff

This is a load of complete balls - and alot of other un-funky things. As Zanzabar said, Drocket's doing the Project (which is gonna require a HUGE amount more time than WoD, which screws over Duklain's argument), so it's not like he wants to spend more time with his family or something - if this was the reason then I'd understand entirely.

Yes I'm sick of mainly 3 or 4 people saying Drocket was bad or we all cry too much. I think we should tell ourselves that not them. Who mad them the judges anyway? I never gave permission for someone to raise a red flag to my nose saying i cry or whine too much or am not doing anything to prevent the problem. Of course I wont name anyone but i think you can take a guess.

Aimee, that last point didn't make any sense; you didn't address the point that Drocket will be spending more time on the Project. I personally have nothing against the choice, and am actually working on the project. It is our business but it's kind of funny how you tried to distance yourself from the subject with a line like "could you two stop bickering."

Ummmmmm listen up folks. This is just my point of view and not Drockets or any other admins. Me being part of the admin. staff looks at both perspectives. Those of the players and those of the admin staff.
This post is more than likely exactly why drocket may have closed the doors. The constant bickering. Damn, we cant stop bickering even when WoD no longer exists.
And yes, I know we all can still login, but its still not WoD.

Thanks, Herakles
