Mountain Troll's Mountain Pass

Postby Tel'Imoen on Sat Jun 14, 2003 7:36 am

Earlier, as I was stealing a few bottles of G.R. Private Reserve with Azzo, I got a message from Jinsey saying that the pass leading to Despise was being invaded by mountain trolls. Azzo and I gated to Despise and met up with some of the trolls, quickly we ran back through the gate to find another way. We decided on gating to Wind and slowly riding south.

On the way there we met some more of the buffed up trolls, and sadly I suffered a death at the hands of several of their archers and marksmen. After gathering my stuff and Azzo deciding this is a job that Keelarr would be better suited for, we continued. We reached the mountain pass and to our surprise the trolls had laid several stone wall traps, which when triggered would create a stone wall as wide as the pass itself.

About half way through the pass we met up with another group, which consisted of Juliana Kandamos, Sheena, Jordan Gryphon, Nia Atei and Jondolar Zeldoni (If I missed you, feel free to include your name yourself)who also had just finished fighting the trolls. Together we checked for more trolls and once we were sure there were none left, we all went to the Britain Bank and had few drinks of G.R. Private Reserve, which Azzo and I had stolen from Gramps earlier.

After we had shared libations at the bank, Jordan and I went out to the lands to bash some baddies and heard the death cry of Thomas Duklain. We quickly ran to his and Chelsea's side to help after a slight detour through the main Brigand/Mage fort (:P Thomas) . We met a group of mountain trolls, warriors, archers, marksmen, and shamens and quickly dispatched them.

Once we retrieved all of Thomas' gear we found that there were more of these Mountain monsters mining in the western pass. Jordan and I came in from the west while the Duklains covered the Eastern front.

Then it all hit the fan! Jordan and I were met with a Mountain Troll Chieftan who hit INCREDIBLY hard (possibly harder than an ancient even)! Jordan died, and i was forced to flee screaming like a little girl. The Chieftan looted Jordan and after res'in J, it was obvious that we needed some help. I frantically messaged just about everyone that was online at the time (which were'nt many - bout 5am EST). Sethlenara was quick to ally with us but soon met with the grim reaper (I tried to warn ya :)

Finally I contacted the Funkiest adventurer around (although he was incogneto - using a diff char) and Jondalar. 4 mages vs. this powerhouse was suicide, so I suggested that we could use a tank. This is when Funky brought in the BOdal :). And he brought the funk with him too! With some steady healing and severe bashing we vanquised all our adversaries and retrieved most of the stolen goods.

Thanks again to all who joined in and helped out (and the seers that spawned these nasty trolls). I had an awesome, funky time :D

and btw thanks for the "hooch" gramps!

Yes, my death cry was becoming anthem last night. And again this morning. Probably will be tommorow. Uh...

After my rescue I stayed briefly to assist with the trolls. Those trolls were too tough, and I had been returning from a lengthy hunt. I was out of supplies. The importance of those supplies became apparent momentarily. My death cry was heard throughout the land.

I returned to the bank and dealt with the boring 'after hunt' things like selling and repairing and sitting around the bank feeling generally tired. I did this until I heard my wife's death cry. I know it was my wife because she has this very subtle accent. I could not mistake her death cry, we've been married too long.

My wife had a strange encounter with a wandering healer. I do not know about it, hopefully she will tell the story here.

I went to the mountain pass between Britain and Skara Brae. Trolls in abundance, and soon I was practicing my death cry again. I think it sounded throughout the land, but I'm not sure I was able to get loud enough, because I was taken by surprise. So my wife came to help. I heard her death cry. I remember smiling then. Because I could never mistake that sound, and it was good to know that no matter where I was, I would know if she was dead or not.

I rushed to help her. I dispatched her foe and we got her gear back. Then, I think I died again. Some people came and ran around a chieftan like chickens with their heads cut off.

I realized then that though they looked silly, they did not die. I would have to study this simple tactic, for obviously there was more to it than meets the eye. Once the cheiftan was dead I took some stuff off him and went home.

It was my stuff to begin with. OF course, it was my stuff to begin with.

Don't feel badly Thomas many of my most glorius victories in battle to the outside observer would no doubt have seemed more in the nature of screaming like a little girl and running for my life rather than the coldly calculated combat maneuvers i maintain to this day they were.
