Virtue guard creation

I think I am going to finally do a virtue guard. After reviewing my characters, I guess I'll take my mage, Kayn, and turn him into a Vguard. He was a nicely setup mage with 110 invo, magery, med and 90 necro, alchemy, mr. But, I want to keep my druid so he's the only choice I suppose.
I've never been a swordsman so I might as well do that. What would be a good template?
swords, leadership, tactics
mr, parry, healing
sound workable?

That sounds pretty workable, you might consider mr, anatomy, healing as secondaries.

You might also want to consider picking another primary wpn skill. There's always a shortage of good magical swords (while macefighting and fencing wpns always sell for less).
Joram has parry instead of anatomy because I barely notice a difference between 60-70 anatomy and 80-90 skill. In fact, I could even argue that the difference between 70 and 110 is not significant enough to justify the specialization of anatomy over some other more needed skills (Camus used to be a Master "Anatomist," hehe) but then I don't want to whine

Actually, you know what, in Ackadia I used to play a herald character who had archery as a secondary. All in all he was a pretty decent character to play with. Now that archery has been SIGNIFICANTLY improved (in comparison to back then) I have seriously considered dropping parry for archery just to try it out (and I'm still deciding
). A VG with two bow-wielding henchies is pretty effective with 60 archery, I can only imagine how much more effective Joram would be with 80 archery. Of course, there's always a tradeoff (giving up the ability to successfully solo certain mobs like Dragons).
Anyhow, I believe it's worth the try. Besides, who would want to wear those ugly looking Chaos shields all the time

Intended to mention that myself, then forgot. *sighs* I have a mind like a steel thingie, you know a doohicky.
As to anatomy, I guess that boils down in large part to playstyle, I tend to prefer 2 handed weapons to one and shield, so anatomy works pretty well for me, you almost need it to be 90 to get the most benefit though as at that skill level it shaves 2 seconds off your bandage time relative to having it in the 60-70 range. The added damage from criticals is nice too, if not all that dependable.

Yup, remember that VGs have to shop for three (or more), not just one

Decision, decisions! Anatomy, parry, one handed, two handed. Yes, I think I'll choose something besides swords. I've never used swords in any of my UO incarnations mainly because 'everyone' else did. I do like maces. Hmm, perhaps fencing would be the way to go for a change of pace!
I like the thought of healing faster but I might not have to if I could parry a blow. Then again, 2 handed weapons do more damage supposedly, right? I've never done 2 handed before either.
I have to admit, I do like the Order shields much better in an esthetic sense.

Pau's skillset:
Primes are Leadership, Maces and Tactics.
Seconds are MR, Archery and Healing.
He has had to learn patience with his henchies, but they are now Masters in Archery, Maces and Tactics, and Adept in Healing. Very powerful.
And Chaos Guards Rule!

Maybe I could get an Order shield (cause I like the silver snake symbol) and then go rogue?
hehehe

Kasia has Leadership/Tactics/Fencing primed
Healing/MR/Parry secondary
I would suggest parry as a secondary for two reasons. One it boasts your str and dex a few points(and those points come in handy
).In addition it is MUCH easier to find a good one handed silver weapon(for those pesty undeads)than it is to find a good two handed one.
Oh and Chaos guards rule

Yes, I think fencing would be the way to go. Bayn is a macer so I'll try fencing. Now all I have to do is find an excellent fencing weapon. hmmm, spear, short spear, rapier, something like that.
I do have some items I could trade for a nice weapon, or even just buy outright. Hmm, got an indy robe of necro I won't be using anymore on Kayn.

My skillset is as follows:
Primary
Leadership
Macefighting
Tactics
Secondary
Magery
Magic Resist
Healing
I seem to do ok. I am able to gate and I have 68 archery and seem to do ok with that as well. My strength without buffs is 92. I believe int is 54 and not sure what dex is.
I've been thinking of changing maybe healing to archery and probably get a heal buff.
