Aquatic Deadly Sewer Rat

Postby Chelsea Duklain on Thu Mar 04, 2004 12:02 pm

As many of you know,I met several untimely deaths last evening. Thanks to all of you who offered assistance. There were so many! Unfortunately I was fishing and in the middle of nowhere. It seems odd-ball creatures like giant Deadly Sewer Rats have began swimming. I was cruising along on my little dragon boat,IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN, tossing a net over the side periodically when suddenly:

*A Deadly Sewer Rag springs out of hiding!*

WHAT?!

I figured OK, a big rat. I dropped the net and went into war mode. It was pointless really. I think he hit me twice and while his two "bites" wiped me out, my three or four slashes did no damage to him. One tough rat.

So I cruising along, dead, stuck on a boat with an aquatic deadly sewer rat running around on my boat and the tillerman decides I need resurrected. *Shrug* Sure. I'll give it another shot.

[/i]You are dead.

Didn't work.

Thankfully, my boat finally hit the NE end of Occllo. I got smart and decided not to answer the tillerman's obviously stupid question. The rat grew bored with no one to annoy and hesitantly stepped foot off my boat into the water. I came to life screaming "Sail Back Full!!!!"

I messaged John and told him not to go to Occllo because that rat was there! I was going to tell some hardy people, obviously that's not me, and see if they were up for a challenge. Seems John and Azzo were already on their way. I was very fortunate to be able to run to the next room and watch the battle. It was touch and go there for a while. The rat almost got the both of them too. I told you it was a tough rat! Yay for John and Azzo! They saved us from the nasty rat!

So the moral of the story is: Be careful! If a sewer rat springs out of the ocean at you, attempt to outrun it cause if it gets on your boat, you're toast![/i]

Just in case you don't know, you can still control your boat while dead, the tillerman must have good spirit speak or something, anyway it's quite often possible to dislodge stuff off the boat by sailing and turning a bunch, or even just stopping it and waiting for the mob to wander off it.

So, THAT's why I heard Azzo's death Cry... I couldn't imagine.

Glad you all are alright now.

Thank you Azzo and John, for protecting out our friend and lands. :)

Azzo died before the incident. He and I went to Occlo and searched out the deadly sewer rat and vanquished it without casualty, with the help of Azzo's dead friends.

Probably a leftover from a quest.

A few months back I was ready to do some fishing. I was going to buff once I got into deep water. I headed out from Skara Brae docks and an ancient sewer rat leaped aboard my ship. Imagine my consternation! I thought we had killed all those nasty rats in Skara a couple nights before. Besides, rats can't go onto water, can they?

My death cry rang out very quickly. It finally left the ship and I agreed to be ressed by my concerned tillerman. Just as I came back to life, a water elemental materialized on the port side and zapped me with a spell. *sigh*

So, I spoke to the tillerman in my ghostly voice, "Please go forward full speed, no I don't want to be ressed yet."

When we got to a clear place, I let him ress me, immediately had him take off again and reassembled my gear and mood.

I hate rats.
