Anyone else try this yet? Its supposed to be grape Mountain Dew, but they dyed it extremely dark and call it Pitch Black. I had some tonight and all I can say is ... Yech.

I like grape soda, and this tasted vaguely grape, but - well, not really. Its not 'normal' grape flavor. They call it 'black grape', and I think it tastes slightly like concord grape jelly, but there's something else in there. Its just not good.

Normal "Mountain Dew" is clear, it comes from mountain stills. Some of the best moonshine made goes under the heading "Mountain Dew".
Now as for the green crap in a container, it in my oppinion as I am entitled to think this, is nastyand putrid. But then I know people that love the stuff. It has grown in popularity since the comiong of the "DO THE DEW!!" commercials. As for a grape version, I can only imagine it will be of the same quality as their "Code Red" drink, not all that and a bag of chips so to speak.

Now I like the reg mtn dew and the code red one...But the country I'm now living in doesn't sell the red one. I bet the grape is as nasty as the orange one. I will try it on my next trip to the US and also stock up on the red to bring back with me. lol

I love the Dew but in canada its made diferently then the us. i do like both the red and orange never heard of black yet, all three taste good with vodka if anyone is interested.

Most sodas tend to taste good with vodka. It's a miracle

At a Taco Bell by my office they have a version called Mountain Dew Baja. I it is a Lime flavor of Mountain Dew.
Of course I think that Code Red is a lot better than normal mountain dew. A daily Code Red from the vending machine is what gets me going for a long day of programming

I've tried the orange and red mountain dews, which are both pretty tasty. Concord grape jelly is yuck.

We only have the origional Mountain Dew here in Oz, and I love it. Only wish I could try the others.

I thought it tasted like ALL the mountain dew flavors mixed together.......YUCK!

Code Red was in Aus for awhile, but it good banned by those food control people for a reason I can't remember. I think it may have had too much sugar or caffine or guara .. though, there was a recent rush of those sort of energy drinks a few years ago, and it could quite possibly have been a "Red" (not Red Bull) named drink that was banned in place of that.

But it did trigger a memory of sorts.
