Someone messaged Thomas as we rested sitting astride our fearless but panting mounts. The Brit Town Crier was telling all who would listen about a travelers advisory. He was warning unsuspecting souls to stay away from the north Vesper Island.
We of course took this as an invitation to go investigate
I opened a gate to Minoc to sell off our gains from the Trolls and their cohorts the Lizzardmen which made our journey a bit more comfortable. This also put us right where we needed to be...just north of the area of which the Crier spoke.
Oh dear! We heard poor Bart Grumm's last gasp as he went down into oblivion..wonder if he was being a hero in Vesper....Thomas asked me to send a gate to Britian and stepped into it telling me to stay put that he would return...and when he did he had with him many heros ready for battle. Ciara graced the threshold with Sal Silivan and his trusty henchmen Bruce and the brave Ashley. Loakie also ran through the gate eager to clash with whatever was threatening our lands. Even before my gate closed our attention was diverted to a wild and riotious group that pounced out of nowhere! It was a band of Blood Lust Demons! Sal started taunting for all he was worth and I started to beam lightning and electrical bolts from the tip of my staff. As soon as I did though I realized this was the time to let the others use their offensive skills and concentrate on healing them. Also this gave me a moment to admire *shudders* the beautiful fall colors these beasts were...when they fell it looked like fall leaves littering the streets! Thomas busied himself when not shooting the foes with his bow and arrows picked their corpses clean! It seemed like they would never stop coming. After a fierce battle with many wounded we decided to try to take it a bit slower. Thomas suggested that Ciara tempt some into following her back to us a few at a time..Nox joined our merry band at this time telling us he had gated into town to harass the Vampire population! He was quite taken back with what he found!
My story hiccups at this point as I cast Lich on myself and managed to kill myself in the process! *sigh* One of the fine heros present managed to resusitate me and I gathered my belongings trying not to look too silly. I did overhear Nox state there were many of these Demons in town so as soon as i was finished picking up my kit we were off. We battled and battled and the next breather we took we were joined by Galorm Baldo and Trent Macabre. What a gentleman Trent is..first thing he did was find out who to give his loot to! These fellas informed us that the Blood Lust BadBoys were swarming down to the south.. Our youngest member, Galorm got a tad eager at this moment and stepped all of three steps too far! Hehe he was surprised how three little steps could bring a flurry of flapping Blood Lust Demons pouncing on us! To his credit he tried very hard from that moment on not to do that again
Malachai Wolfsbane, a legendary hero joined our growing numbers at this time. Gallant as always he scanned the area for beasties finding many to turn into fall colors on the ground. Another grand hero from many many battles, Dracovich politely asked if he could join in the fun. We assured him we would appreciate his company and we battled on. At this point Loakie found a note! We eagerly listened as Loakie read it to us:
"Guard our lord from the Humans"
Rather cryptic, aye? On we fought...they had the nerve to invade our public houses at this point...hiding in the bank of all places! Soon we were getting a little blood lusty ourselves as we heard Galorm say he wanted to get up close and personal with them and then hehe he wanted to dance with them!! I think we may have lost a henchie at this point...Ian's screams could be heard for miles, poor thing. He did manage to join up later though
Thomas voiced a concern about the fact that their lord was in or around Vesper...and sure enough Dracovich saw Lords and Body Guards on his tracking! Sure enough even I saw that this Blood Lust Demon Lord disturbed my camping. Seems he was hiding out in the tailor shop! We all anticipated what was going on down south as we could see them circling around something...but oh! Poor Vendor! He didn't stand a chance! At this point Drendru joined up dissappointed that he missed the major part of the hunt. Confident we could find no more we gated back to Brittain and rested in the bank telling all of our adventure.
We cleared Vesper of all the Demons..and I remember seeing where one of the BodyGuards was poisoned but when all was said and done we didn't kill the Lord. He must have plans to return.
