A few thoughts (one stolen)

First the blatant theft: I see our friends on Ackadia have started a new server up and amongst the posted changes I spotted this

The values are as such:
1 point of Base Strength = 1.45 points of health
1 point of Mod Strength = 0.5 points of health
1 point of Base Intelligence = 1.45 points of Mana
1 point of Mod Intelligence = 0.5 points of Mana
1 point of Base Dexterity = 1.25 points of Stamina
1 point of Mod Dexterity = 0.75 points of Stamina

Seems like a rather good change giving base stats greater importance than modified ones, good addition for wod perhaps?

Now for the not quite so stolen one: Currently there are bonuss to hit if your weapon skill exceeds certain values, 75 and 95 I think, might it be better to drop in code similar to the proposed gate changes so that you get a bonus to hit based on wether a skill is primary or secondary instead? Won't make a great deal of difference in the long run but would be something of a boost for lower level characted while removing getting up to the boost point via natures bless + skillbuff combos.

Edit: forgot one, if the core even supports this, how about switching the swing speed calculation from dexterity based to stamina based and add some usefulness to that stat.

That change to the relationship between stats and vitals is an interesting one. I'm a bit curious why they chose those specific releationships, though (1.45? What's wrong with 1.5? :P ) One thing I'm not too fond of it for, though, is that it removes the simplicity of the relationship, and I think simplicity is a good thing.

You're probably right about the weaponskill thing - it probably should be a pure check based on what you have .spec'ed. Next time I'm fiddling with combat for whatever reason, I'll probably change that.

I'd love to make weapon speed based on stamina instead of dexterity, but its not currently possible with POL (that's an addition that's been on my wishlist for POL for a while, simply because of that exact change :) )
