Tunnels of Famine

Shadowstone asked me to go hunting with him tonight so I met him at the bank, talked with Aimee Duklain and others as we prepared. Trishara O'Daye (sp??) and Gemini (is that right?) joined and we headed off to parts unknown. When I stepped through the moongate I found us right in front of the Famine entrance. Oh my! I have explored it a teensy bit in the past by myself but I imagined that we were going to do it proper tonight.

The opponents were light at first and we readily swept them back into their graves from where they had arisen post haste at our arrival. Then, we went down a set of stairs into a room and it was full of vampire ancients, vampires, vampire lieutentants, undead dragons and other assorted life force sucking critters. I avoided death by moments, several times and then Trishara bit the dust. We valiantly fought on and eventually conquered the swarm of hissing, growling, bloodsucking monsters. After regrouping, we moved on.

I got stuck with looting and I couldn't keep up with the other three! That made me somewhat nervous, I tell you! Fortunately, they often ran into groups of opponents that allowed me to wield my silver hammerpick of power effectively. Shadowstone did his usual nonchalant "kill them all wherever they stand, sit or fly" routine and the others dealth re-death right alongside him.

We finally ended up in an chamber with a sealed treasure room. Someone found a lever to open it and I gazed greedily at the stacks of gold and silver coins that were piled alongside the wall. Unfortunately, we were unable to lift those since they were magically bonded to the floor and walls but they were certainly pleasant to look at.

I've heard that some people "solo" this dungeon but I don't see how they manage it. It would take me so long, that respawns would happen constantly and I'd never get through!

Afterwards, we returned to the Britain bank and split the loot. Nothing of great import and two of us had to leave rapidly. Afterwards, a group of us did a ragged map that had been found and unsurprisingly, more vamps! They were readily disposed of and that was the end of the evening.

An excellent adventure and I plan on solo-ing that dungeon myself someday! Fangs a lot to the group and I apologize to those that messaged me during that time when I was surrounded by creatures intent upon my very life and I could only answer sporadically and somewhat incoherently.
