First post!

In order to post on these boards, you must be registered. This board is the single exception (so that new/prospective players can ask questions.) We've also decided to take a stronger stand with regard to rude/insulting posts - thread that we feel have gone too far done that road WILL be locked. We don't believe in censorship and don't want to stifle people's right to free speech, but we do want to keep the boards friendly.

Remember what your mother said: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. This doesn't mean you're not allowed to disagree: it means that you have to disagree in a polite manner.

Let me know how you like the new boards, what needs to be fixed, etc.

Any chance that you'd have to be a player (have or had an account) on WoD in order to register on these boards. I can easily see how some rejected applicants might get registered just so they can spam our boards telling us how much our shard "sucks."

That was something that I looked into, but it would have been far too complicated to do automatically, and too much work to do manually. If we get any troublemakers, I'll just have to ban them as we go.

I think locking out the 'Shard General Discussion' section is a decent idea.

But, I do think that the 'Shard Technical Forums' (so anyone can post on the 'Scripting Forum' board) and the 'General' sections should stay open to all.

I thank you Drocket for that line in the sand. I feel it will help a great deal. People may have looked at some of my more recent posts and not been very happy. But in retrospect I and MANY MANY others have been looking at a lot more posts and not been impressed. And since mother was always right, lets at least be civil. There may be light at the end of the tunnel after all. Once again, Drocket you de man!

Besides, if you did that then people like me would not be able to keep tabs on things.

Uthr, you shouldn't have any problems getting registered on our boards. Not now, not ever.

To some degree, I have to agree with you. I definitely don't plan to do any censoring based on content: If someone want to criticize the shard, or me, or someone else, I do think that they have a right to do that.

My only real concern and only thing that I MIGHT filter out is 'contentless'-type posts. You know, nothing but insults, or eternally bringing up old subjects that everyone in the universe is sick of, etc, etc...

For some reason, the board doesn't quite fit my screen. There is a small gap left of the frame of the board you can see the "cloudy sky" background on. The there is a space with the "emoticons" that is much wider then it needs to be. That leaves just slightly too little space for the board text, so that I have to use the scroll bar on the bottom to "pan and scan." Is that how it is supposed to be? Do I need to buy a wider monitor? (just kidding)
One question. Where are / will be the "player submissions"? I feel funny asking, since so many of them were mine, but... any plans?
