Drocket posted a bunch of changes yesterday. They look reasonable although the slight MR effectiveness didn't seem to do much with Bayn this morning. He seemed to take more damage from magic rather than less. Ah well, luck of the draw perhaps.

Ah, I read those. I thought perhaps there were physical changes in WoD, like the inclusion of cigars, coffee bars and elves.

Elves don't exist...at least in WoD. That is what I've heard anyway.
;)

ya some where good otehr then the bug now where poloymorph lasts 30 seconds if that!

this was the worse change i have seen on wod so far

Removed the 'mage bonus' from the Protection spell

before i got a total of 45 ar now totaly buffes with a morph thats last 30 seconds i get a total of 29 ar.
dont really understand how the hell where suppose to fight that way .

That's why we Ranar's came here, we can hide out and no one will tell on us, they don't believe we exist.

Don't knock it till you try it. It may not be as terrible as it sounds. Mages don't really need to melee to fight, anyway. You're just going to have to move around a bit more often.
Believe me when I tell you, this change doesn't even rank in the top 5 of worst ever WoD changes :).

It had to happen sometime . . . (me posting again)

I agree with fitz, I have 4 characters here on WOD, 2 of which relied on the mage bonus. Played them both last night and it wasn't fun.

My Bard/Mage is nigh unplayable because he can't even withstand a couple of troll warlords beating on him while he tries to bard them and fails 6 times in a row because of 'random' failures.

My Supertank, who waived being able to do a lot of damage so he could have high AR is now UN-playable. Gets less AR than my normal tank and doesn't hit as hard.

Although, on a bright note. Both of my other characters, my tank and assassin, use wands to buff and I was getting a 17 bless. 12 used to be the max.

But that still is no consulation for the loss in playability of 2 characters.

Anyway, enough out of me. Flame away.

Fitz,

I still think this is just a matter of adapting to the changes and developing new tactics. A nerf on mage's AR simply means mages can't take as many melee hits as they did before (at least not from the high end mobs). As it was before, most high end mobs were too strong to simply just stand there and let them hit your leather-armored character. Just try to think, how would you fight an ancient with your mage? [Very carefully for sure :P]

Personally, I use a cast-run-cast approach to those situations. Always timing myself right to make sure the tough mob never actually touches me. It isn't as time effective as you'd want, but it's still a lot better (and faster) than trying to kill an ancient with a tank.

I remember at least one person saying he was going to quit because of the stamina changes. STAMINA for pete's sake! It took me a grand total of a two hours to adapt to those changes in combat (ok maybe more like a week to fully get use to them, but I was fighting alright all that time).

I think it's impossible to adapt to something as long as you keep telling yourself that is sucks. If you think it sucks, it will always suck until you decide to change your mind about it. Perhaps if you stop thinking less negatively for a while and give it another chance you'll eventually convince yourself it isn't all that catastrophic of a change. Becuase, it really isn't you know :)

Helpful Hint: Don't let them hit you. Don't just stand there like a lamp post, MOVE! :)

Um . . I do.

Sometimes it just doesn't matter. There are a LOT of trolls in shame now. Move too much and the stamina loss gets ya.

duh no kidding we move around.
where not so stupid as to stand there like a lamp post and get hit.
and as looking back it was only 10% of the shard pushing for these changes the rest didnt want the changes but who cares about the majority. its all about the top group right  .
you got what you wanted enjoy it!!!!!
