Few questions

Postby kwoth on Thu Apr 08, 2004 9:31 am

Hi all...

First of all, I applied yesterday and really hope my application gets trough. From the things i've read on the site, forum and manual it sounds very promising and exiting. But on to the questions:

Is there a ability to treasure hunt? I've seen the skill cartography in the manual but just to be sure this question. And do treasure library's exist on your shard (the one where all treasure places are marked with a rune)?

Also, are there many guilds on this shard? I'd love to find some friends to hang out with and go on a hunt. I've always been a bard/mage, t-hunter and a carp/lumber/mining for a worker at OSI and i just love to run around in Destard or finding treasure. That brings me to another point; are there also groups formed for newbies? Some sort of newbie hunt? Because hunting can be hard for a newbie.

Last is the house placing? How many space is there on the shard to place your house? I remember you had to pay ridiculous prices at OSI for a house (and even in felluca!!) because all space was taken. Are the house prices reasonable? And does this shard have a thriving economy?

Well sorry for the long post, i'm just too exited to pick up my old online gaming hobby and hope to meet some nice people online. Thanks in advance,
kwoth

Well i'll anwser some questions...not in any order
Destard has ophidians in there.
There isn't any specific place for t-runes, places vary from OSI-t-places. Sure there are some for pretty nearby.
So far there is one guild, the adventurer's guild.

Some player run groups also exist, but no "normal" guilds. No Guildstones, tags etc.

There are varying places for newbies to hunt: Brit (Homer Oldhome memorial or something) graveyard and the woods within, you can ask for other players to hunt with and be more safe.

There are plenty of free spots for houses and even static ones, price is something from 40k-800k.
You can have 1-5 houses, depending on houseslots.(5 slots on account).
Don't know about economy, no comment. :)

Hi there :) Hope you get accepted into our World :) There are no set Guilds here but if when you come into our lands you come up to the Brit Bank I am sure you will find people to help you get started. We are a helpful shard..with advice and even offers to take you to the easier places to hunt. Oh the Brit Bank is the large building East of the smithy all the way to the north end of town. And the guards can help to keep those pesky skellies off you if you need to run to the bank when hunting alone :) Good luck and feel free to message me or Angelica or Leilani anytime you see me on.

Hello! And welcome!

Ok, to answer some of your questions:

Treasure hunting works marvelously here, although the higher level maps can get a bit hairy once you pop the chest... best to either take a powerful character, or a group with you on the hunt.

Guilds- really the only "guild" you can join is the Adventurer's Guild, which is an NPC run guild that gives you quests to complete for tickets, redeemable for special items.

House placing works exactly the same as on OSI, with the exception that you are alotted only 5 housing points per account. Small single room houses are worth 1 point. And that you may purchase static houses which are quite lovely.

Last thing I'd like to recommend is that you forget EVERYTHING you think you know from OSI... almost NONE of it works even CLOSE to the same on POL servers. I gathered from your post that you have only ever played OSI servers... all I can say is that you will be astounded at how much better World of Dreams is, and POL servers in general.

Other than that, you will find everyone here most helpful, and if you have ANY questions once you get in game, there are always people on who will be glad to help you out, along with the volunteer help list accessed through your paper doll's "help" button.
