Blights, Praets and Angry Ones in Yew!

*Pau Atei*

This evening I received a message from Sachiko that she had found a blight in Yew. I am by no means a Druid, so I contacted my brother Covenant.

After Pau let me know what was going on, I buffed and gated to the Yew Abbey where I was assaulted by diseased llamas, cows, bulls and wolves. Directly in front of the Abbey was a blight! I carry EQ scrolls for just such an occasion, and the diseased ones were soon dead. I took care of the blight and then headed toward Yew when various death cries rang out.

It seems that the Praetorians had decided to assault Yew, and "coincidentally" there were also blights everywhere (I personally don't believe in coincidences). I met up with Sachiko after dispatching a few more diseased animals and then we spotted a reaper in Yew. Between the diseased ones and the reaper, I had to retreat.

While falling back to regain mana and get some "help" (I love spirit wolves!) I ran across a couple of Praetorian Scouts. After getting my little darlings ready, I went back towards town and the wolves "had some fun" at the expense of the Praets.

Upon arrival I discoved that Sachiko had turned the reaper into so much kindling and then the rest of the fun began. Angry ones were everywhere, a few Praets were running around and the blights had produced or attracted many more diseased animals, ents and more reapers. Help soon arrived (I don't remember everyone's name, sorry) and the town was cleared.

Sachiko and I continued our search for blights and found quite a few. (The odd thing about these blights is that they were in the road, primarily at intersections. When I've had to deal with them in the past, they have almost always been in open fields.) Anyway, after much searching (and a lot of diseased corpses) we finished up and headed back to Yew, where we found and killed a remaining angry assassin and a brigand.

I sincerely hope that the Angry ones or the Praets haven't figured out how to make blights...

Many of the found notes mentioned that the invasions were intended to keep us Britains distracted and preoccupied, while the Prophet's plans developed. The notes also mentioned a homeland in Yew, and the north. The latest notes inferred that the real invasion will happen soon. This latest activity in Yew, and all the previous references to Yew, suggests that we should all keep an eye on that area, and maybe start hanging out at the Yew Bank, instead of the Britain Bank.

hmm....

The Prophet has not revealed his name, or even his species. But I think I know who it is - Benson! That guy has been buying up and hoarding all the cheap magics in the land. I bet he's been equipping an army of shock-troops with them, to lead the invasion. That guy is a loner. Living alone out in the woods in his uni-bomber cabin, plotting and scheming. Besides which, he's just plain rude and anti-social. I say we grab torches, give in to mob hysteria, and burn him out!

*Note Found In Yew During This Invasion by Damascus*

He walks among us. Prepare for the gathering. All must be represented.

I also noticed after selling my bag that I had acquired 7 Pumice and 4 Eyes of Newt, which I had never heard of before. I hope this info helps out some.
