I'm on playing my miner character right now. Hehehe, I haven't seen this many death crys since that long long night that the entire quest hunting party died over and over and over and over again in Hythloth Dungeon. LOL. Some may remember, this was a few years ago, one of the deadliest quests in the shards history. Part of me wishes that I could have gotten on earlier to join the festivities, yet, a larger part of me is very glad I couldn't. :)

I applaud all of you who gave you lives, over and over again tonight! And I thank you all for making my evening a bit more interesting. :P

Wow, I hope Abercrombie takes a lot of edges off. I was traveling around doing my fedex thing with the shopkeepers and the death knell sounded constantly for the whole time! Whew, major death fest, eh?

Congrats to the Purple Team for winning! My Teal Team commented over and over how much fun it was, and I think it's safe to assume that everyone there felt that same way.

We died a lot, but so what? We had fun, it was most definitely a Challenge and we all got keepsakes. What could be better?

Our Staff (GMs, Seers, Admin, Host etc) are simply the BEST! Thank you Abercrombie for an EXCELLENT adventure! I can't wait for the next one!

Aye, congrats to the purple team, not only for winning the challenge but for also managing to get two super tokens.

Some great sportmanship shown too. After the entire Teal team died Ssin was kind enough to bring me back to life.

Thanks to Abercrombie for organising this :)

From the changes page.

Elementals summoned by NPCs should no longer be morons

This must have been fixed sometime after the event last night, for which I am grateful, there are a couple bits that could have been bad...

hmm kinda sounds worse than it was really ...

Equipment:

I don't recall exactly but the equipment provided was along the lines of a few pieces of chest armour(chain, studded, 2 leather), a sword, a halbard, a spear, a mace, a bow, 100 arrows,100 bandages, 10 greater heal potions, 20 greater heal scrolls, 20 ressurection scrolls, 3 (partial) spellbooks, 2 bags of 100 regents. <--- Thats all total, for the group, not each player.

Random Stuff:

We started off pretty good, killing a pirate in fairly short order, then moved onto a wisp/sister combo, probably should have left them alone (but didn't) burned probably 1/3 our consumables (including all greater heal potions) and got nothing (I think) of value.

Other dubious choices include facing the first challenge monster with most of us in nothing resembling a complete set of armour which racked up quite a few death cries for our team.

I really don't envy Garrett's job of sorting through the loot and attempting to load balance bandages/armour. As a side note the other teams all seemed to wind up with better armour than us, we must have been doing something wrong.

Angelica and Cloudchaser also had it rough, attempting to keep us healed with the limited regents available. We were able to shore up with some greater heal scrolls made from some of the local serpents which helped some.

Malacin and I had it easy, we just had to bash stuff.

Wish I was better at doing the whole story thing, maybe Cloudchaser can do up something. *hint* *hint*

I have never been more proud of a group of Questers than I was last night. You all, each of you, have my thanks for making that worth every moment of setup and planning (the results of which are still up for debate). :D

We'll have another in September, but with scissors included in the equipment right from the start. And maybe a few more reagents. :P

Great Job!!

I missed it! My daughter had an auto accident last night that tied us up for a few hours (she is fine, but her car is toast- again). This sounds like it was a really cool event and I would have liked to support it. Now I will have to rename the return to Buc's Den by the original five Buc's Den III or something.
Anyway, my kudos to the orginizers and congratulations to the participants.

Oh my gosh, I died that many times?

Regardless, I had a complete and total blast. I was amazed and slighlty disappointed when we were informed we had 20 minutes to go.

Near the end the Teal Group and the Yellow Group were in the same area. We kept going to the same group of healers for resurrection. We'd get resurrected, step out of the domicile and immediately die again. Run back in, resurrect, come out, die again. It was a vicious cycle but I was laughing too hard to care.

I was very proud of our little hodge-podge team for getting third place. We had no clue what to expect from the challenge or one another and I feel we persevered. Congratulations to the Purple Team for winning, to all the teams for participating and most importantly for the GM's and Seers for setting up this (Bill and Ted-ism) MOST EXCELLENT challenge. I had entirely too much fun.

It was a lot of fun! I didn't realize I died that many times! Eldric, I'm amazed you actually kept count of them, but it makes for some interesting statistics. :)

I still feel bad for my team. I was the looter, and at the end, when we kept repeatedly dying as quickly as we were rezzed, I had two or three bodies lying around (my own body) that I wasn't able to loot completely before I got killed again. So I lost all the loot we got. Luckily, I was only holding one of the tokens, so we were still able to turn most of our tokens in. But we all got keepsakes, and we all had fun, and fortunately for me, nobody on the team got mad at me for not being able to loot my body. :)

Very much fun! Thank you so much for planning and hosting it!
