Special Order Contracts

Postby Eldric on Wed May 05, 2004 12:22 pm

Nice Addition :)

Just did one of these for 10 exeptional chain coif's.

Any chance of speeding up the actual crafting some? I had the idle out box pop up before finishing the 10 items.

I see there is a virtue reward on top of the gold which will be nice for crafter types. Is there also a possibility of some sort of "special" rewards, be it magic, or deco or other?

Edit: forgot one, when adding an item to the contract is there any chance we could get another target cursor instead of having to puch the button once for each item to be added?

Blacksmithy needs to be the skill that merchants use when you get a job. If your first skill is a tradeskill, then that's the one that's used. Otherwise, it uses your set tradeskill. So you'd have to swap woodworking and blacksmity, or else move a non-tradeskill to your first primary slot.

Probably not. I am planning to revamp blacksmithy menu/choices, though, which should make things a more functional, easier to understand, and, generally, prettier. I'm going to be getting rid of the 'select how many to make' option though, because basically, its bores me to death...

Maybe eventually.

Currently I'm not planning on it, no. Leaving deeds around forever just seems like a rather pointless itemcount-hoard, and the whole 'collect a few specific small deeds out of thousands of possibilities to fill a big deed' just sounds annoying...

As I said, I'm working on the blacksmithy selection menu. I'm not going to finish tonight, but here's (roughly) what it'll probably look like when I'm done:

Thats pretty nice :)

I dont suppose the pol we are using (or is it a client issue too *looks clueless*) supports the semi transparent menus like in AoS?

I think (though I haven't tested, so I may be wrong) that the semi-transparent menus were added in during the 3.0 client era, so they're not available to us with our current clients. To be frank, though, I don't really like the semi-transparent menus. UO is a fantasy game, and I like it to keep the look of a fantasy game, and that generally means gumps that look like scrolls or stone. The new gump system that OSI uses just doesn't fit with the style of the rest of the game (just like their big-square container gumps look like #&$^ in the 3D client...) OSI doesn't seem to care anymore what their game looks like, but I still do.

Every one of your points is true.

And yet at a useability level, the semi transparent gumps are nice for when you are trying to both craft and chat with people at the same time, even with a huge gump onscreen you can still see the text from people talking and related person.

That is very true. I get so frustrated sometimes when I am browsing through what Sebastena has to offer and I can't see what people are saying to me.

So, if I don't answer someone, I am not being rude, I just don't see your words! Come around next to me and shout or something. :)

me too but I don't have room for the journal. With the radar map, three backpacks open, paperdoll and status bar I fill up all that space. Hmmm, no real reason to have paperdoll open, is there?
