My heart overflowed with joy when the graceful and beautiful Nia agreed to be my bride!

All of WoD is invited to the festive occasion on Sunday, December 22, 2002 at 2pm EST in the Druid Grove. (Reception follows at Skeeter's Tower.)

Please plan on being there to help us celebrate this joyous occasion in a traditional Wiccan Wedding.

I sincerely hope all are planning on attending. Nia and I are very excited to be getting married in a "Couple Conducted Handfasting Ceremony."

It is unlikely I can be there so please accept my fondest wishes for a great day and for the rest of your lives.

Congrats on your wedding. Sorry I couldn't make it.

Wow! What an awesome day!

For those that requested it, here are the vows that Nia and I used in our wedding ceremony:

Couple Conducted Handfasting Ceremony


Priestess:

May the place of this rite be consecrated by the Ancient Ones, for we gather here in a ritual of love and would be wed.

Priest:

May the Spirit of Air bless our union with humor and stimulating conversation. May the Spirit of Fire bless our union with warm friendship and burning passion.

Priestess:

May the Spirit of Water bless our union with true love and understanding. May the Spirit of Earth bless our union with abundance and the strength to meet the challenges of the future.

Loving Goddess and Laughing God, we ask you for your guidance in all of our future endeavors.

I come here of my own free will for it is my wish to become one with this man. I, Nia, take thee, Aellius, to be my husband. I vow to be your loyal friend and partner in life. (A kiss is appropriate at this time, and the tokens may be exchanged. The ceremony is then over and cakes and wine should be served at the revel that follows.)

The cakes and wine were at Skeeter's Tower in a truly wonderful reception. Someone had the brilliant suggestion to pass a registry and everyone signed it. The comments touched our hearts, my friends, and the registry, along with the rose and 2 bottles of the Ceremonial Wine are now prominently displayed in our home in Britain.

A very special thanks to Skeeter for hosting the reception, to Raven for these GREAT screenshots, to Skeeter and Sholeh for standing with Nia and to Thag for standing with me. Thag's reception toast was wonderful (full of hics) and the sentiments that were expressed echo my own feelings: we are truly blessed here in WoD with GREAT friends, GREAT admins/gm's/seers and a GREAT place to call home.
