What happen if you get a contract and cannot fill it?

Can you get a job and not get a contract put in your pack?

I am new and have several and did not know what they were until just today. Can I give them back now or when they come in my pack at first?

Nothing, you're not penalized or anything

If it's been 6 hours since your last contract, or you've completed your last contract, you will get a new contract.
Otherwise, you will have a job like any other skills's- a grey bag where you auto-make X number of items and then return the bag to the merchant.

No, you can throw them away or leave them somewhere (maybe another smith will come along and want it).
