Some things you may not know...

I realize that this list won't be new to some people, but it will be helpful for others.

1.) Using the Necro skill in a graveyard will summon an undead creature. This creature will either give you necro stuff (like necro regs and necro scrolls) or they will offer to kill you (in which case you get to loot the corpse).

2.) Using .point on an item will tell you if it's static or placed. If you're wondering about that table in a building, or that wall, or a piece of decorative armor, use .point and target the item. If the item is identified, it is placed and may be moved or removed. If it is not identified, then it is static and cannot be moved or removed.

3.) Using .dump on a garbage can will give you back what you just accidentally put in that garbage can. Before double-clicking the can to "empty" it, use .dump on the can and target a pack. The item(s) in the garbage can will be moved to that pack.

4.) Using .sort bank is a REAL time saver. While standing relatively close to a Banker, type .sort bank and target a bag, and everything in the bag will automatically be auto-stacked with like items in your bank (except for gold). For example: let's say you have a character who is a necro and you save necro regs for that character. You have your tank out and while looting, you are going to get some necro regs, right? When you get back to the bank, type .sort bank and target your loot bag, and all of the necro regs will automatically be auto-stacked with the necro regs in your bank.

Please add to this list as you find things that may not be "common knowledge" or in The Manual.

Thanks a bunch, I didn't realize the trash can thing or the sort bank. That will help me out a lot.

Aye thanks Atei :) Some stuff you rarely use and is hard to find so it is good to be reminded ;) In the hurry I was in to move my henchies to my new home yesterday I happened to leave my faithful guards at the bank! Of course when I logged back in with their owner they were gone! For the life of me I could not seem to find out in the manual how to find them...it took a couple visits to the Inn south of the New Brit Bank before I realized they were hiding under some others :) Also I don't remember how the "tell a guard" feature works...can anyone enlighten me? And thanks Joram! You did give me the confidence to keep looking at the inn! Now...tell me again...how do you make keys? Hehehe

Michella, by tell a guard feature you mean how do you get a guard to retrive your henchies for you in the event they become lost? You can ask any Chaos, Order, or town guard for the status of your henchmen, and they'll charge you about 500 gold (I think) to summon them from wherever they might be.

Hope that's what you were needing to know

Oh my ... do you have *any* idea of how many times I wished for this?
Can we get this added to the .dump table in the manual soon? Please? I just checked and it's not there

p.s. Thank You, Atei

I'm pretty sure that would only work on trash cans located in your backback (therefore not locked down and especially not the ones locked down in the bank), but I might be wrong about that.

Well, I tried it on my trashcan at home ... and it told me that it had to be in my backpack ... me sad ... then I remembered that trashcans here aren't the same as OSI, and that they can be released and picked up and locked down again. And, it worked fine (I recovered my grape, if anyone cares:) ... so , me happy again lolol.

On the 'system' trashcans (as you said, Dell), I would guess 'no', as you can't release and pick them up.

You are all very welcome. Does anyone have any other ideas to add?

Sheesh, how do you figure out all this stuff, Atei?!!

The .sort regs command is useful to dump all of your regs (from any pack anywhere in your backpack) into one bag after you have just bought a bunch. Only, if you aren't into necromancy, be careful to use a .sort bank first on all of your loot bags to make sure necro regs get autostacked in your bank box. This command looks everywhere throughout your bags and dumps all regs into the one bag your specify. Of course, if you are a necromancer or druid, you might not need to worry about that. ;)

Nevertheless, I forget to do a .sort bank on my loot bags every once in a while and from then on, whatever necro or druid regs got dumped in my reg bag start accumulating there because of Autostack. So, every so often, I look through my reg bag and put extra stuff in the bank or on one of my vendors. You can also use the second page of the .reg command to monitor how much of these other regs you have on you at any given time.

Another useful command I use when hunting in groups or on quests is .status target, which allows you to check the buffs on a companion that you target. You can also check henchy and pet buffs this way, in case you think you might have missed one buff and aren't sure. I use it in groups if we buffed at different times when we started and I want to know when I (as a mage) should rebuff the tanks in the group. This isn't something I use a ton, but it is useful when I need it. :)
