The wind had increased greatly and was now blowing southwest instead of south. I scanned the horizon for the mysterious glow that had been in the distant northeastern skies. Although the morning light was making the glow impossible to see, the wind carried evidence that there was still something astir. I immediately knew what it was when southwest wind reached me.
