"Thank you"

Postby Laephis on Wed Sep 08, 2004 12:48 am

Ok, so I still can't get myself to post a goodbye. But I did have another thought. Actually, it's more of a regret. In thinking about all the praise and thanks you've given us this week and over the years, I realized that I've never given my fellow admin the praise and thanks that they deserve. Maybe we were all too busy "doing our thing", or just figured it never needed to be said, or thought we'd get around to it later. I dunno, but I don't want let an opportunity slip by. We've had a lot of bitter disagreements and hurt feelings, as the Admin boards will testify to, but putting all that aside, I'd like to focus on the good:

Drocket, thank you for being such a kickass scripter. I often thought how lucky we were to have someone as talented as you...and I should have told you more often. You have a marvelous skill for translating an idea into a piece of code, and I look forward to seeing where your future ideas take you. Thank you.

Siobhan, thank you for doing what nobody else wanted to do: deal with the crappy side of WoD. A lot of people think that being a GM is about fame, glory and power, but those people have never paid close enough attention to you. You make wise decisions. You work so hard to deal fairly with the jerks. You listen. You love the players of WoD. You taught me the importance of remaining low key on the boards. (Ok, so maybe I didn't do such a good job with that, but I got a lot better in the end!) Thank you.

Daeric, thank you for being such an opinioned guy. No, really. :) We had a rough time at one point, but I'm so thankful that we were able to work it out and become friends. I've come to value your opinion as a critical part of making a decision. You have great insights and are able to articluate them. Thank you.

Sebastian, thank you for being a helluva guy. You listened to my rants with the greatest amounts of patience. If it wasn't for you, I would have left WoD a long time ago...and would have missed out on a great deal of wonderful stuff. I won't hold it against you that you left us a little early. ;) Thank you.

Lothar, thank you for being the Seer who never said "die." When all others had left, you still stuck with us, working on new quest ideas and mobs. Speaking of mobs, I don't think I'd ever seen anyone with more created mobs than you. You must have made a catalog system to keep track of all of them. :) If only you had been able to clone yourself, we would have had world's most dependable and active seer group. Thank you.

To all the others, I sincerely thank you as well. Although you are too numberous to mention individually, your story will not be forgotten as it is a vital part of WoD. I am grateful for every effort made, big or small, that was done to help make WoD what it is.

This has turned into quite a longer post than I intented. I suppose I could have just sent a private email to all these folks, but I think what I had to say needed to be shared publically for all to see. If any of you paid any attention to me over the past few years, you'll know I don't post BS. Nor do sugar coat anything. As much fun as conspiracy theories are, what I've said is the God's honest truth about these hard working people. Thank you, guys, it's been a blast.

And of course, I have a big "thank you" to the players, but that's another post... ;)
