Of the Prophet, Praets, Angry Ones and Giant Rats...

There I was, sitting at home in Ice, when Aellius messaged to tell me that a Praetorian Scout had been spotted near the Britain Bank. As I may have mentioned before, I don't get along with my brothers all that well. Pau is just too high and mighty for my tastes, and ever since Cove got married he has turned into a big wienie. Aellius at least had the intelligence to marry Nia!

(It's important to explain here that while Aellius is a fine tailor, alchemist and scribe [he's even teaching himself to cook], he knows better than to attempt to go into battle, which is why he contacted me.)

Anyway, he messaged me so I buffed quickly, re-poisoned my quarter staff and opened a portal to Brit. I stepped through, ready to do battle. I met up with Thomas, Angelica, Zareena Stydoran, Augur Wildwood, Lyllwen Green and others in front of the Bank. Several of the Praet worms had been spotted around town, so we fanned out and routed them without much fanfare.

Zareena found this note on one of the hapless Scouts:

Scout the town and report back soon. We must have updated information on their movements. Report no later than dawn one day from now. --General Sepram

At this point I had to go plow the ice, so Zareena contacted Covenant. You just knew I wouldn't do it, right?

When I arrived on scene, Zareena informed me of the situation and we decided to go check out some other towns. While we were in Moonglow, Belle Remings death cry rang out across the lands. I messaged her and discovered she was in Vesper. We quickly headed back to Brit Bank to meet up with the group, and then we headed to Vesper.

When we arrived, we found some Praets and cleaned them out. Augur headed North while the rest of us made sure Vesper was clear, and we also wanted to make sure Belle had all of her gear returned (thieving b*st*rds!).

Augur messaged to tell me he had found more of the Praet scum, so the group headed that way. We found more Scouts, and also Praet Marksmen, Lords, Sargents--in other words, the usual Praet rabble. We followed them all the way back to their Camp near Vesper, and we found another note and a book. First the note:

Form a forward camp. Assign platoons to the generals and have them drill. Send out scouts to give us advance warning of any spies or other intrusions. We move soon! --Lord Fenwick, High Commander.

We also found Priests and Angry Townspeople among the Praets in that camp, and a book called "Mutual Assistance Pact" by The Prophet turned up as well:

We are agreed. We will provide funds for you to obtain mounts for the additional troops and to train those troops.

In return, you agree to keep the pressure on and keep the defenders of the Queen busy. She must understand the terrible cost of fighting her own people...and us. Once we have reached an understanding with her Majesty, we will be in a better position to argue your cause. But at that time our pact will cease to be in affect and we can hold further discussions on future cooperation if the situation warrants.

Good luck Commander. Do your part and do it well. The rewards may be great!
    --The Prophet

It may be time to ask for an audience with the Queen to apprise her of the situation.

After we had returned to Brit to split the loot and discuss the battle, we were informed of another Giant Rat outbreak in Minoc. Zareena and I headed to the Minoc Mines, where we both died. :| We asked for and received help from Ciara, Lagger Stee and Tristan Gryphon (or is it Trystan Griphon?), among others.

I'm not sure if the two incidents are related, but the very idea scares me.
