Novus gave me my first magic weapon. A scimitar of Might, with that I felt invincible. Needless to say that was a false sense of security. I finally developed strength to wear plate and could hold my own but had a lot to learn yet.

I heard a call of an Ancient Dragon menacing the Yew forests. A group of 5 or 6 warriors and the Great Mage Archanum took to the task. Archanum proceeded to explain to us the tank/mage tactics to be used and warned that if he didn’t have our life bar he wouldn’t be able to heal us. Some of us heeded that warning others didn’t. One by one the others fell or panicked and ran. I faithfully followed the great mages wise words and held my ground refusing to run even when my life bar was almost gone. The great mage kept his word and kept me alive and the Dragon was eventually slain. He congratulated me after the long hard fought battle and explained that is how it works I keep him alive he keeps me alive. If I die, he dies it’s as simple as that. He was amazed to find that I wore no special armor other than exceptional plate and my weapon was the scimitar of might Novus had given me.

Arcanum was pretty good at the mage thing, but I think Balinor might have been better. Having either one of them along was a huge bonus when hunting.

I don't remember Balinor ever ebolting me. Arc did that a whole lot.

That was a good story by the way. Thanks for bringing back such great memories of Arc and Novous, Alexander. Both were great people to know.
