Last night, Malacin, Edison, Magus and myself were deep in the Fire Dungeon when Edison received a message from Malakim saying he had found a note near a shrine. The note said,
"To all Shaboolies:
In several moons, a Traveler will visit your camp. He brings great news for the Shaboolies."
We decided to go to the Shaboolie camp and see if we could gather any more information. When we
got there, Malakim was already there and apparently his attempts at sneaking in and trying to secretly gather information had failed, and he had been discovered. Our arrival was a bit noisy and we, too, were quickly discovered. A fierce battle ensued and we soon dispatched the Shaboolies. We searched all their huts and found no more information regarding the mysterious Traveler.
Since our adrenaline was still flowing from the Shaboolies, and since we had no clues to chase, we decided to go to Famine and see if we could find some more trouble. We made our way through famine's usual population of Vampires, Vampire Lords, Blood Elementals and cleared out the tunnels in short order. We were on our way back out when we came around the corner and ran straight into some Praetorians! They were as surprised to see us as we were to see them!
Luckily, we regained our composure before they did, and they went the way of the Vampires.
We recovered 2 notes from their belongings:
"Look for a new location. It must be large and have boat access. Be quick and stay hidden from prying eyes."
and
"Dang it Joe. We are lost, I'm telling you. And there is absolutely no boat access here. The General is going to hang us all when we get back to camp. Hope they have re-secured it already."
Well, we now had two choices. We could look for a large place with boat access, or we could go see if the Praetorians had re-taken their fort south of Trinsic. We decided Trinsic was the greater immediate threat, if indeed the Praetorians were back in their old stomping grounds.
Their fort was too close to Trinsic for comfort, so we went there.Sure enough, the Praetorians were back in fOrce. Ciara and Roderick joined us. Those Praetorians didn't stand a chance!
When it was all over, Malacin found another note among Praetorian spoils:
"Retake the Fort South of Trinsic. We shall continue to ready our plans. You must not fail in this."
We figured they had followed their instructions and returned to their fort. By the time we dispatched the Praetorians, it was late and we called it a night.
Today we checked out Vesper, but saw nothing out of the ordinary there.
