Sad News.

Greetings,

I speak on behalf of the Honorable Goran Ell and his niece Brynn Ell. I bear news of great sadness for the Ell clan and friends. The fate of Lord Jaorim Ell has been discovered. His remains, along with those of his daughter, Kara Ell, were returned to his home last night by members of the Trewynd family.

I discovered Jaorim and Kara by chance while exploring the lands north and east of the town of Minoc with my brother Ander. We found a portal which lead to an ancient dungeon. The dungeon itself was empty, but oddly not. There was the feeling of eyes watching us at all times, but nothing ever appeared. We reached a cavernous room with several corridors leading away. It was in a room at the end one of these corridors that we found the remains of Jaorim and Kara. Their armors had been heavily damaged with huge gouges in the metal, and their weapon had nearly been blunted with heavy use. There had been a great battle in this room, there were corpses of huge scaled things resembling dragons, and skeletons littered the ground all round, human and otherwise.

There were no artifacts in this area of the dungeon, nothing that would give reason to what the Ell's had died for. Only a tattered letter that was tucked into a fold of Jaorim's clothing was found:

"'Brother, if you are *illegible* then we have failed to acquire the *illegible*. You must take our bodies to our homeland to be *illegible* and buried there, else our souls be *illegible* forever in darkness.'

-Lord Jaorim Ell"

It was then that we noticed a sudden feeling and a stench of death in the air that was slowly robbing us of their strength. Taking up the bodies, we quickly left the dungeon. Once back through the portal, it began to shimmer and disappear with the rising sun.

Goran, Brynn, and his trusted friend Krieg Foran have left for their homeland to fulfill the last request of Jaorim. Goran has left the family stone tower and the Minoc Smithy to the care of the Trewynd family until his eventual return. We hope to call this new land home for now, and will defend her with our lives if need be.

The news delivered, the story told, I leave you for now.

May the Virtues guide and protect you,

Lord Dayel Trewynd

Noble Lord Jaorim Ell and his daughter Kara MUST be avenged! The hideous evil behind this fiendish plot WILL be rooted out and those responsible will pay dearly for this treachery. The entire Atei clan will not rest until these crimes have been solved and those responsible brought to ultimate justice. This I swear upon my father Amon Atei's grave!

Truly no nobler, greater, kinder defenders of Queen Lissar's throne have ever or will ever walk the Lands than Jaorim and Kara Ell. This is a sad, sad day for us all, my fellow Citizens. :(
