Some 7 months later Amon stood on the roof of Castle Atei, dueling with his eldest son, Pau. Pau had shown little interest in magic, but at age 15 was already skilled with a mace and shield. It was magic against might, and it was becoming increasingly difficult for Amon to best the young macer. However, the confrontations were not about winning; Amon was teaching Pau battle tactics.
