A Cry for Darkness- the Revenant

Hours more pass by. Or is it days? I have lost all mindfulness of time since this unforeseen calamity. My supplies are depleting and I must make the effort to travel to town for some reagents and potions. I am no longer bothered with the human inconvenience of hunger. The very thought of food is somewhat…unsettling.
I arrive back to the cave entrance and, to my pleasure, darkness has spilled across the land. I look up at the eternal sky and see the moon. The moon is so subtle, yet I can feel the sun struggling to grasp its power over me as it is reflected off the moon.
I hastily arrived to the town of Britain. Britain, the centralized trading town where people from all across Britannia gather to buy, sell, trade goods, or gossip anything their human hearts desire. However when I arrived, there was an eerie silence in town. The sounds of vivacious music, the scuffles outside of taverns, and the bank, which is the heart of the town, sequestered. I reach The Sorcerer’s Delight so that I may purchase my mage needs. The shop portcullis had been lowered to my dismay. A recently placed sign had been tacked on the wall to the right.

By order of Queen Lissar:
All citizens and places of business within
the town of Britain are subject to curfew.
Due to a recent plot against the Queen by
a man, Marius, also recognized as ‘the Black’.
Any person who violates this law or has
any affiliation with this particular individual
is suspect to treason.
