Login for config file

Postby Darcane on Fri Apr 02, 2004 5:43 pm

Every time I try and logon to download the config file I receive a bad username or password. Yet, I can logon no problems to post in the forums. Am I missing a step in the procedure?

Scratch my last post, I found my original email from Arcanum back in 2001. :-)Hopefully same logon server.

If that doesn't work, Darcane, try this: do NOT use your board login and password to retrieve that file, use your GAME login and password.

I made the same mistake when I recently had to re-load WoD. Good luck!

Is all good! I renamed my logon.cfg file to wodli.cfg, or something to that effect and was able to FINALLY play UO with my brand spanking new computer :D Don't really notice much difference playing on a pc that is 4 times faster than my old one.

Computer speed actually has very little to do with game-play hon. I used to play on OSI on a pentium 166 with a 33.6 modem....lol. What really makes a difference is, obviously, your connection speed, combined with the amount of RAM your puter has. Processor speed really doesn't effect game-play speed, etc.

The UO client seems to expand to fill all available CPU power =\

Sometimes I wonder if it wasnt specifically designed that way to level the playing field between those with fast computers and those with older ones.

a friend of mine was a tester for osi and according to him UO is basically one huge kludge. parts of it are so poorly documented that the programmers are deathly afraid to tinker with it lest it collapse on them.

Since it seems that a number of people have gotten confused about the difference between a server account and a forum account when they try to download the file, I updated the page to explain things a bit better.
