I sat down from having just trimmed some of the nice lovely trees in Moonglow. I streched, lay back to where I could see the passing of the clouds and began to day dream of days gone by. My family had taken thier vast fortune and left for parts unknown. No one seems to know where they had gone. I do have an idea, but such is a family secret.
Ah yes once I walked the streets as the mayor. It was a simpilar time, and one could be in such a lofty position and still carry an air of humility. It seems just yesterday the defenders roamed these streets, too. Having been cast out of Cove for so many orcs, they settled here. Moonglow grew in those days. It had been my desire to keep Moonglow a simple yet attractive place. Now I quiver at the sight of a house where once a nice park had stood, and am saddend that our dream of a shopping mall in Moonglow has fallen into such udder disrepair, vendors lining the streets not selling or buying, just crying out for a job.
Appearantly no one has cared for the island or graveyard, as ghosts now make thier presence felt all over the island. In my routine sweep I am accousted by many of these apparitions, some more powerful then others. The other day I had been beset upon by a whole host of apparations just traveling into town from the moongate. Such violent magic they cast. Do get me wrong, they seem much more harmless then the trolls who would harass me as I walked home.
What had ever become of the tournement Lissar was to attend. It was so long ago, I doubt few would remember. It would have been one of the grandest events. But, alas, I do not know where the defenders have gone. Nor do I know where the rangers of Yew have gone. For surely they would have crushed the shadow wolves long before they became a menace. I have heard tails of the shabooli killing Big Ed the Bad. But where was Wolf? Where had Kyriana gone? It is the shabooli that constantly taunt and mock me.
Where had the gentlemen's gentleman Penn Hedly III gone. It seems just yesterday his messages were everywhere. I even remember trying to enlist his assistance in ridding Moonglow of the trolls.
Raven my hunting partner of long ago, has moved back from where she had arrived from. Doubtful of here return, I search for another skilled archer to hunt with. I still remember the day we heard the screams of Sunlight Fade and raced to remove the reaper whom had demanded so much from here.
Boris had built his tower in the swamps that were very much similar to the swamps where we had shared a castle. Being a humurous one, he had built a graveyard, that contained my tomb.
Ah, speaking of tomb I wonder if Preachers tomb site still stands in Trisnic. If so does anyone care for it? It would be a sad day if not.
That sound, it had become quite well know to me. I jumped to my feet and grabbed my bow. Quickly the arrow left my bow to find its target. I notched another, which was just a sure. Down went the ghost. Reality soon hit me. I had not yet made my daily trip to the Hall of Virtues. I jumped on Happy and to the docks we ran. We just barely caught the last ferry to Britain.
As I rushed from the docks to gather my ritual robe, I passed where once the Best Dressed Brittanian had been open. It is still a tailor shop of much renown, but alas Janey has moved on, also. I gathered my robe and went to the Hall. Passing by each virtue with the respect they deserve. I returned my robe, collected myself and went home. Home to patrol. Home to learn again. Home to work.
