Journey

Steps faltering, moving slowly along this path, stopping now seeing past, presen, and future, all stretching out before my eyes. Unsure I take a step only to falter and stop, once more looking at the path, knowing with a certainty that each step taken draws me closer to the end of one life and the begining of another. Treading silently and softly I come to the crossroads, there to ponder, which road will it be. Tell me heart which road should I take, which will lead to happiness and peace. O heart don't steer me wrong. Weary of the journey, waiting for my heart to answer, I rest here at the crossroads.

I've rested at the crossroads so many times. So many wrong paths, or long paths that led me to another crossroads. Decisions, emotions, logic avail me nothing. O'er the years I have begun to appreciate the crossroads and realize that they are indeed a place to rest. Perhaps no Path I take is wrong because I've always learned so much, whether I experienced good or bad. Perhaps my journeys are just ways to avoid realizing that peace and happiness is where I am, no matter where that is. But, I keep dreaming that there IS a Shangri-La, an Eldorado, that place of tranquil happiness. Would you care to share a cup of tea with me as we ponder our next steps?
