Why My Poetry Assignment Was Late
Why My Poetry Assignment Was Late
By Ajax Mayflower
I was chopping trees in Minoc
Building chests for training money,
Working sad and lonely 'cause
A dog had killed my bunny,
Then I got a note from Aurea-
I'd not believe from other lips-
There was trouble back in Yew-
(whisper)
There's something rotten in the crypts!
I met them at the the Moongate-
With Bilbad we were three-
But for shadow knights and mages,
We needed company.
So we summoned Sy and Xavier
Brave Lederwerc, too, came,
And Wode and that nice lady-
Mayhaps Gabriella was her name.
And so the little force breathed deep-
And pondered on our dooms.
But we marched bravely into danger
(whisper)
There's something deadly in the tombs!
We met our foe among the crypts-
And more frightening it could not be.
The enemy that was killing us
Was one we could not see.
Our ranks were thinned by unseen blades
But rose to fight anew-
We learned to fight the invisible-
We just closed our eyes and slew.
The prize for all our courage
Was entrance to cave
Where waited more of unseen death-
(whisper)
It's unhealthy in this grave!
More death awaited in the crypts,
We paid blood for each compartment
But suddenly the joint got classy-
It was Ba'alzamon's apartment.
I had not met this man before-
Were the undead all his thugs?
He had the nerve to ask our help
DELIVERING HIS DRUGS!
He promised rewards,
So we withheld moral judgin'
We headed to Hythloth
(whisper)
There's danger in the dungeon!
Some heroes had to leave,
But others stepped in line,
Like Ehran and Razz Something
And young Blue Alkaline,
In Hythloth we fought spawns,
And eventually killed them all.
As a prize we all got tickets
Into Doppleganger Hall
There we fought outselves,
We refused to lose or quit.
We fought our way to Graendel
(whisper)
It's unpleasant in that pit!
We accepted her rewards and thanks,
And politely heard her story.
We took the loot and and gratitude
(whisper)
But we do it for the Glory!
